What you fear most will inevitably happen to you. Now there’s a statement to stop you in your tracks. I'm not a religious person, but I recall Job in the Old Testament, the patron Saint of Suffering and Hardship who greeted the news of the sudden death of all his children with words I will paraphrase as "That which I have been dreading all along has happened."

If one is to believe the biblical accounts, Job had it all, and then some. So why had he lain awake at night, fretting about something bad happening to his children. Then it happened. I wonder what would have happened if he'd absorbed his focus on the bright and prosperous future awaiting his children, rather than their demise.

I merely use this as an example of someone that unwittingly confirmed that what he had been thinking about then went and happened. I am not saying he, or any other bereaved person, is responsible for what has happened.

If you think about something intensely and consistently, you will manifest it in your life. If there is any chance of there being truth in this premise, what would you like to dwell your thoughts upon? So many people have hypnotised themselves into expecting and receiving the worst possible outcomes in life.

When I speak to clients presenting with issues like erectile dysfunction, fear of public speaking, and vaginismus, to name a few, an underlying issue is they expect the "inevitable" and it happens. A guy gets so worked up about how he will perform sexually, that it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy and his member lets him down, as if on cue. And he thinks, "I knew this would happen!"

I could give examples for each and other debilitating conditions that deep down you know is all in the mind.

You have to change your way of thinking. It is more easily said than done, but if one can succeed in positive thinking, how much better life would be. This is a way of tricking your subconscious mind in a very positive way. When you think negatively, you trick your subconscious in an extremely negative way. So, get your mind focused on positive, encouraging thoughts. Hypnosis is a great first step towards achieving this. That's an important first step to laying claim to some of life's unquantifiable riches.
