To watch Bernadine Coady from Peterborough on this BBC News link, you’d think she’d just come out of a rousing game of bingo, not knee surgery. But she’s just out of surgery. Unlike post-surgery patients who emerge out cold, then wake up groggy and incoherent, she’s quite animated and very in control of herself and her speech. She’d had no pain medication and no sedation. That’s the power and beauty of self hypnosis.
To watch Bernadine Coady from Self hypnosis differs from hypnosis only in that the one can administer it to oneself. Instead of pain, she hypnotised herself into feeling only tugging and pulling during the surgery. Not every one can handle anaesthetics. For a few there is an extreme allergic reaction. For the general population, the toxic cocktail just impedes recovery. You think your friend or relative in hospital looked that awful because of the trauma of the surgery. Think again. It was the anaesthetics. With hypnosis, there are simply no negative side effects to contend with. More and more people are resorting to hypnosis or self hypnosis to get them through painless childbirth with hypnosis; painless dental surgery with hypnosis; and actual invasive surgery with hypnosis. And the one thing these patients will always share in common is feeling refreshed and full of goodness after the hypnosis, with a speedier recovery time compared to if they had been knocked out with anaesthetics. Hypnosis can work in this way for almost every body. In this clip, Bernadine is 67, a fragile time in life for most people her age. She highly recommends hypnosis for surgery. If you were in her shoes, you would to. |
